Kaniz is the founder and creative heartbeat of the studio, an entrepreneurial designer whose vision shapes every home the firm brings to life. With an instinctive artistic eye and a deep love for residential design, she has built a practice centered on listening closely, dreaming boldly, and translating client aspirations into spaces that feel personal, meaningful, and beautifully lived-in. Kaniz leads with imagination and empathy, guiding clients through the design journey with warmth, clarity, and a collaborative spirit that makes the process as inspiring as the final result. As the studio’s driving force, she cultivates a culture of curiosity and craftsmanship, empowering her team of experts to deliver homes that reflect not just good design, but the people who will call them their own.

John Patterson is a seasoned Residential Designer with more than 30 years of experience designing custom homes throughout the Mid-West. Known for his thoughtful approach and deep technical knowledge, he has partnered with a wide range of homeowners and builders to bring distinctive, highly livable designs to life. John combines the insight that comes from decades of practice with an easygoing, client-focused manner that makes the design process clear, enjoyable, and tailored to each project’s unique goals. Senior Structural Engineer
Alan is a Licensed Structural Engineer with deep expertise in residential construction and more than two decades of experience supporting custom home projects across the Mid-West. His background includes extensive collaboration with structural component manufacturers, giving him a rare, inside-out understanding of how to achieve cost-efficient solutions without compromising performance, durability, or design intent. Alan is known for his practical mindset, clear communication, and ability to work seamlessly with architects, builders, and homeowners alike.
